meta tensegrity

Small infinities are comprised of tensegrities, poised to hold their flexible shape and function, under both known and unknown stresses, tensions, distortions, configurations, and opportunities. We are poised for adaptive tensegrity.

Any tensegrity system requires designs which avoid connections (relations between components) that are too static, too rigid, too solid, too immutable. When the purpose of a tensegrity system is known, when the range of shapes it can take is known, when the range of configurations it can assume is known, and when the range of stresses it will need to bear and distribute are known, the properties of the system are informed by its function, by its environment.

But what if, as in the case of small infinities like you and me, these "knowns" are unknown? If the environments we find ourselves unfolding into are not fixed, not static, not pre-determined? We would need tensegrity systems which are poised for these unknowns. We need poised tensegrity systems. For fun, lets call them Meta Tensegrity Systems

Meta Tensegrity Systems require designs which avoid not only static connections, but also avoid static purposes, static functions and static assumptions about the momentary conditions of their environments.

This Meta Tensegrity is a higher order tensegrity, a pre-tensed capacity for adaptive tensegrity, with a predilection for fast forming and novel tensegrities. The changing demands, spaces and geometries of the environment inform the unfolding of the Meta Tensegrity System; unfolding in changing space and time, movement to movement, moment to moment. Meta Tensegrity Systems are designed for change, for uncertainty, for opportunity.

As small infinities we are comprised of Meta Tensegrity Systems: poised to unfold opportunistically within both known and unknown environments, predictable and unpredictable environments.
