I wonder, gently, why
“You are beautiful to me: I wonder, gently, why.”
But “why” is not a place for you to return to.
To suspend the answer of “why,” to not determine a reason, to not exhaust my eyes in looking, to leave myself in a state of wonder, to hear the catch in my breath, to be seduced for a moment,
to evolve a space inside, a shifting gallery of spaces, to which you might return.
“You are beautiful to me: I wonder, gently, why.”
Your form, your self, your movement and your way: they alight on the uncrowded, unquestioned, spaces inside, and they tell me why. In their own voice, unfolding their wings, in their own language, in their own way. The voice of beauty, the wings of beauty, the language of beauty, the way of beauty.
The open question of your beauty, the space for your beauty to alight, to visit, to dance, to be, to evolve, to play,
a space where I let you go, to leave, to return, to let each instance of you fly in one window and out another, the ephemeral surface, the ephemeral facet;
spaces for you, endlessly reshaped, refurnished, cleared out, increased, reduced,
spaces to receive your beauty, again and again, in any form it likes.
